Listen up ... Mullen is impressive

Editor's Note: We don't know much about Mississippi State football, we don't plan to follow the Bulldogs much in 2009.

OK, with that said, let's get this straight ... this Dan Mullen guy was a great hire for Mississippi State. The former Florida Gator assistant is getting paid real well to work some real miracles in the SEC. I still have my doubts, but after listening to a few of his preseason interviews over at The Clarion Ledger, I can see how he may find a way to be successful in Starkville.

Just watch. He is impressive.

Motivated by maroon

According to the Clarion Ledger, new football coach Dan Mullen raised some eyebrows when he pulled out a maroon Mississippi State football helmet during his introduction presser.

Reporter Kyle Veazey says he'll have more on the new look on Tuesday, but he has reported that the new maroon helmets will be worn next fall. New uniforms are also likely.

Seems the early opinions are positive. Now if Mullen can find a way to win in Starkville without cheating (see Jackie Sherrill).
