Hey Corso, the kid is blind
This is what Lee Corso gets for picking Oregon to win the Rose Bowl. The ESPN idiot tries to shake the hand of a blind boy during today's Game Day. It hasn't been Corso's best season.
The only thing funnier this season was when Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien couldn't get any love from his teammates who aren't blind.

Now that's the Lee Corso we all remember
It appears Lee Corso is getting back to his old self and shedding the effects of the stroke he had back in May. Watch Kirk Herbstreit, though. He looks like he's about to have a stroke after hearing what Corso says.

Random thoughts from the retired one

I wish everyone would stop trying to sell the University of Florida's greatness. They lost a home game to a middle of the pack SEC team. The other one loss teams lost an away game or on a neutral field.
I am going to sound like Lee Corso, please forgive me Joe Brodsky, but here it goes. I think Florida will beat Alabama in the SEC championship game but it is going to be closer than the experts think. I personally think if UF gets into a close, low scoring game, Alabama will win. All the conferences need to play a conference championship game. This would cut out a lot of the play-off talk.
How many people think Michigan has a chance against Ohio State? I do. Slim but a chance.
My nominees for the Heisman Trophy are #1 QB Colt McCoy, Texas; #2 QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma; #3 WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech; #4 QB Graham Harrell, Texas Tech. Of course if Florida makes it to the BCS Championship game then Tim Tebow will win it. He will win it in the closest vote of all time.
A few friends of mine have told me the bowl committees are trying to find schools that have some history with each other. A lot of them are looking at the distance the fans will have to travel. With the economy the way it is the sponsors are trying to make it as easy for the fans as they can.
Who is going to be the All-American QB this year?
The games I want to see this week are: Texas Tech/Oklahoma, Michigan State/Penn State, Ohio State/Michigan, BYU/Utah, Ball State/Central Michigan, Florida State/Maryland and Miami/Georgia Tech.
My picks are Oklahoma in a blowout. Michigan State in a close one. Ohio State in a closer one. Utah in a walk. Central Michigan in a wild but close one. FSU in an easy one. UM in another nailbiter.

Revenge of the Nerds
Special Report

Vandy is 5-0 for the first time since 1943. I was born in 1944. Heck, they didn't wear facemasks at that time. The Commodores are 3-0 in the SEC for the first time since 1950. I loved it when ESPN's Lee Corso picked Auburn. The sure sign of wrong.
One sign in the crowd during Game Day said, "#1 in SAT every year. #1 in the SEC 2008!" I loved it. Another one was, "Move no one can see the library." I thought that was cool.

USC made a nice comeback. I hope no one was thinking they might not. Oklahoma and Texas is the first Game of the Century this year. Should be a wild and crazy game. Florida and LSU is another good match-up.
Wisconsin had the chance of a lifetime the last two weeks. Not much to show for it. Illinois is teaching a lot of teams in the Fat Ten about speed. Is Florida still playing with any of Zook's recruits? I don't think so.
I hope no one thinks Penn State is that good. If they were to get in the BCS championship game it would be a disaster. The officials might take care of Papa Joe giving them a chance. Penn State and Wisconsin is the big match-up this week. Depends on who the officials are. Watch the calls closely in this game.
