Sorry Archie ... Tebow's knocking at the door

A friend emailed me the other day and all it said was "Superman wears Tim Tebow pajamas."

OK. OK.

I'll finally admit. Tebow is awesome. Maybe it's because of all the volunteer work and religious babble that has always made me want to see Tebow fail. He just seems too good to be true. Hell, he probably won't even go to South Beach when the Gators play for the BCS title.

But there is no kryptonite for this guy.

After today's SEC Championship performance in a 31-20 victory over Alabama, Tebow should win his second consecutive Heisman as a junior. This would equal Ohio State great Archie Griffin as the only two-time winner. This will piss off Buckeye nation, which cherishes the thought of Archie being the only two-time winner.

Tebow leads by example. He is as tough a QB as has ever played the game. He runs like a fullback and throws as well as any of the Big 12 quarterbacks. How much would he rip apart the defenses at Baylor, Texas A&M and even Oklahoma?

He dismantled the Crimson Tide, which entered Saturday's game in Atlanta as the No. 1 team in the nation and 12-0. He finished with 210 passing yards with three touchdowns and 57 rushing yards.

Florida coach Urban Meyer has called Tebow the best college football player ever, and his QB may have proved him right. If he leads the Gators to their second national title in three years, Tebow will become as legendary as any figure in Florida football history.

The story is almost too good to be true. Comic-book like.

I'd like to see Tebow be the first ever to three-peat a Heisman!

He just may do it if he doesn't leave for the NFL. His numbers aren't as impressive as last year, but his unselfish play is why the Gators will win the national title.

Go pro, Tebow! Go Pro!

gotta give the kid credit. he is an amazing player. It would be easier to handle without the constant fawning of Gary Danielson.
